Nancy O'Dell started her career in the broadcast industry as an anchor at WPDE-TV, Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Later she was a morning-news anchor as well as a crime reporter at WCBD TV. O'Dell's articles in Charleston concerning how Charleston police handled DUI cases with leniency led to an inquiry by State Law Enforcement Division. The investigation resulted a stricter directive for state authorities. Ms. O'Dell was awarded the Best Report of the Media Award South Carolina by the Associated Press. O'Dell was then employed by the Miami-based NBC station WTVJ-TV as a investigative reporter prior to joining Access Hollywood in the role of co-anchor for the weekend. Her current position as host of Access Hollywood is complemented by the work she has done for NBC News Today, Dateline NBC, and NBC News. The anchor has hosted a number of Pre-ShowArrivals programs for The Emmys as well as The Golden Globe Awards. The other shows she has hosted include Miss USA, the Miss USA pageant, and Miss Universe.
